iphone running slow

iPhone, Samsung, or any other device, sometimes users can experience slow and leggy performance. There are a couple of common issues that cause the slowness and find out how you can solve some of these issues.

1. Low Battery Health

The battery is the heart and soul of a phone and it is important to know when you're ready for a battery. The longer you wait for a battery replacement the slower your phone will become as well as cause the device to die fast. Average phone battery last for 2-3 years and the most consumer starts to see a decline in performance after the 3rd year. Current phones now allow users to monitor the battery health of the device. In iPhone, battery health can be found in the settings, and it gives a battery health reading based on your charge cycle and usage of the device. In most android models you can use an app called accubattery to monitor the battery health on androids.

2. Full Storage

The majority of the time storage plays a huge role in slow performance. Every picture, every voice memo, and every email that is in your device takes up storage, and the more you accumulate the less storage you have. In iPhone, you can manage your storage and have it stored in your cloud to free up space. ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Usage’ > ‘Manage Storage’. In androids, you can install Micro SD cards to back up data there. Also, deleting all unwanted apps, pictures, and emails can free up storage space on your device. Once there is more storage the device will load faster and perform better.

3. Outdated Software

In iPhone, the new operating system IOS 13 will not be compatible with the iPhone 6, and they will no longer update anymore. That can cause the device to slow down, it will also cause your device to have glitches and cause it to act buggy. To get the best out of your phone, upgrading would be the best route if you have outdated software. Many manufacturers block new updates on devices after 3-5 years of release, mainly because they prefer their consumers to keep buying the latest devices.

4. Multiple Apps

If you use your phone for work, leisure, and workout, you end up with a phone with many apps. Most apps run in the background to refresh location, collect data, or auto-update. The best way to prevent slow performance is to delete all unwanted apps, delete history or cache, and turn off auto-update. By doing this it will help your devices run efficiently and faster.

5. Soft reset

If your battery health is perfect, little to no apps, a ton of storage available, and turn off background usage for apps, but still running slow. Do a soft reset, every phone have different ways to do a soft reset, look it up online and that should be able to reset any temporary bugs.
